Germany’s love affair with motorhomes isn’t just growing, -it’s gone full road trip mode. That’s one million vehicles ready to skip hotels and test the limits of public parking regulations.
According to the latest figures, Germany’s motorhome fleet has more than doubled since 2020, now totaling 1,002,562 vehicles. The most popular choice for conversion? The Fiat Ducato from Stellantis, which alone accounts for a massive 42.6 percent of the country’s recreational vehicle (RV) population.
Digging through the data from Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) reveals a consistent rise in mobile home sales over the past decade, aside from a dramatic two-year pandemic-era spike. In 2020, sales rocketed by 41.4 percent before cooling off in 2022 with a 17.6 percent drop.
