The Magnificent Seven stocks alone contributed 80%. Those are precisely the stocks that were pummeled yesterday.Asian markets are also driven largely by a narrow tranche of companies. “In Hong Kong, it’s six tech stocks that are responsible for 50% of the Hang Seng’s return this year. In Korea, it’s two stocks that are responsible for 40% of the index’s return. In Taiwan, one stock is responsible for more than half of the return, so it is a very narrow rally that is comparable to how much the Magnificent Seven is driving the S&P in the U.S.,”

Canadian RV dealers say they are concerned about the threat of tariffs on their industry, but are cautiously optimistic that travellers may have a renewed interest in exploring Canada in a recreational vehicle. The vast majority of RVs in Canada are produced in the U.S., mostly in and around Elkhart, Ind. So far, the vehicles have been spared from the United States's 25 per cent auto tariffs and Canada's equivalent retaliatory ones, says Shane Devenish, the president of the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association. But, he says, dealers have been stockpiling units just in case Devenish says he wishes more RVs were manufactured in Canada, but the answer is not that simple. "It's a competitive advantage that the U.S. has," he said. "Elkhart is what's called the RV capital of the world. They have a workforce, they have a supply chain. They have the manufacturers right within about a 150-mile radius." Allison Blouin of Fraserway RV in Kamloops, B.C., agrees that the future is unclear. She notes that RVs in the U.S. and Canada use Canadian lumber and some Canadian steel, meaning U.S. manufacturers could be impacted too. "I don't know exactly where the price points will end up," she said.Blouin adds that there is optimism in the industry as they've seen a rise in interest from Canadians looking to travel within their own country amid a trade war."The RV industry, I think, is going to be a beneficiary of that," she said. "Our backyard is massive. We are anticipating people wanting to spend their money at home and wanting to support local communities, local businesses."Blouin says her company, which also rents RVs, is doing a lot of business with travelers from Europe and the U.S. Devenish says he's hearing from Canadian RV owners who are looking to travel further afield in Canada.

The 2026 Edition of the National Electric Code (NEC) is now published, which finalizes the grounding monitor interrupters requirement. All RVs with 30A or 50A electrical service will be required to install a Grounding Monitor Interrupter (GMI), which is a loss-of-ground device. Before electrical current can pass into the RV, a GMI will check the receptacle for a proper ground connection. During use, the GMI will also monitor the ground connection to the RV and, if lost, will disconnect the power to the RV. Background on the National Electric Code, RVs, RV Parks and Campgrounds, and Grounding Monitor Interrupters The National Electric Code governs electrical installations in the United States. It is updated and published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) every three years. Article 551 of the National Electric Code contains the electrical requirements for both RVs and RV Parks and Campgrounds. These requirements work hand in hand to ensure safety for the users of both. Over the last 6 years, there have been several public inputs to Article 551 addressing “hot skin” conditions. On the RV Parks and Campgrounds side, it was suggested that Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) receptacles for the 30A and 50A services be installed on the RV pedestal. That suggestion was not adopted because electrical leakage current from the various electrical devices in an RV would cause a nuisance trip of the GFCI. Another suggested remedy was to install a reverse polarity device on the RV. While improving safety, a reverse polarity device fails to protect against a “hot skin” condition. In the 2023 edition of the National Electric Code, the requirement for the reverse polarity device was replaced with a requirement for a loss-of-ground device. However, because no loss of ground device existed in 2023, enforcement of the requirement was delayed to January 1, 2026. The loss of ground device requirement was further defined as a GMI, resulting in what will be published in the 2026 Edition of the National Electric Code as outlined above. What is a “Hot Skin” Condition? “Hot skin” is a term used to describe when an RV’s metal exterior, metal frame, or other metal items become electrified, which is a serious electrical safety hazard caused by improper grounding or electrical faults. The National Electric Code and the RV industry continue to improve the electrical safety of RVs for consumers through new requirements like the GMI. What is a Grounding Monitor Interrupter? A GMI tests the receptacle it is plugged into to ensure it is wired correctly and has a proper ground connection. If incorrect wiring or a loss of ground connection is detected, the GMI will not allow electricity to pass through or will disconnect power if the loss of ground occurs during operation.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has since issued guidance, and the tariffs officially took effect at 12:01 AM today, August 18. What to know: The new tariffs apply immediately. There is no exception for goods already in transit.An ad valorem tariff of 50% will apply to the metal content of affected products. Non-metal content remains subject to IEEPA reciprocal tariffs. Products impacted include: HTS 8716.10.00 – Trailers & semi-trailers for campingHTS 8708.99.81 – Brake hoses of plastics with fittings, slide-in campers, cable traction devices, truck bed camper shells, and moreHTS 8708.92.60 – Mufflers and exhaust pipes for motor homes.HTS 8708.93.30 – Clutches for other motor vehicles.HTS 8708.99.23 – Parts of steering systems (other than steering wheels, columns, boxes, parts thereof).HTS 8708.10.30 – bumper stampings of steel, the foregoing comprising parts and accessories of motor homes. TAMPA, Fla. — Lazydays Holdings Inc. (NasdaqCM: GORV) and Campers Inn Holding Corp. (Campers Inn RV), the nation’s largest family-operated RV dealership group, today (Sept. 16) announced the entry into a letter of intent (LOI) for the acquisition by Campers Inn RV or its affiliate of substantially all of the assets of Lazydays and its subsidiaries, according to a release. After the closing, Campers Inn RV plans to continue the operation of Lazydays’ dealerships in Tucson, AZ; Johnstown, CO; Seffner, FL; Knoxville, TN; and St. George, UT. Campers Inn RV is assessing whether to continue to operate Lazydays’ other dealerships after the closing of the transaction. The LOI states that the transaction may close in a series of site-by-site closings if mutually agreed by the parties, and that Campers Inn RV’s target final closing date is before Thanksgiving and no later than December 1, 2025. The Transaction would expand Campers Inn RV’s nationwide presence to 48 dealership locations across 22 states. If consummated, the acquisition would provide Campers Inn RV with its first entry into Tennessee, Colorado, and Utah. After the closing of the Transaction, Lazydays’ Tampa-area dealership in Seffner, FL is expected to operate under the name “Lazydays by Campers Inn RV.” In addition, Campers Inn RV plans to grow the Tampa facility through numerous customer rallies, enhanced service, and a unique experience. The upcoming regulation will impact RV travel and camping trips across the state — and now, it’s also reshaping how RVs are sold in the state. If you’re in the market for a motorhome or thinking about upgrading before your next trip, the new standards could limit your options in the not-so-distant future. Although it’s become a touchy topic among RV and camping enthusiasts, California is not banning RV sales outright, but new environmental regulations are making it significantly harder to buy and sell certain models. Here’s what’s really happening, which vehicles are affected, and how RVers can still navigate the changing landscape. While there are plenty of lesser-known RV destinations in the U.S., California is home to some of the most-visited national parks by RV travelers, as well as top-ranked parks for camping in 2025. It’s no wonder the buzz about upcoming laws has become a hot topic among RVers. But California RVers can rest easy. There’s no sweeping ban on RVs in the state, and you won’t be forced to give up your motorhome or cancel your future camping plans. However, a new emissions rule is making it harder to sell certain types of RVs, particularly new gas- or diesel-powered models built on heavier truck chassis. The new rules have created some confusion, stemming from how the rule is being applied — not to RVs directly, but to the medium- and heavy-duty vehicles they’re built on. As a result, many Class A, Class C, and some Class B RVs are being swept up in a regulation originally designed for commercial trucks. Because of this, several RV manufacturers have started pulling affected models from California dealerships, not because they’re banned, but because the companies can’t meet the strict zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) targets the new California law requires. This has created the perception of a “ban,” when, in reality, it’s more of a backdoor restriction that’s squeezing supply.

If you read the trade publications or the marketing new releases from the manufacturers, you'd never know the angst that is out there. But the industry is facing some serious issues. RV parts suppliers are sounding the alarm on negative impacts by the tariff confusion. RV show promoters are worried about seeing display space cut down by RV makers, a sure sign of issues. Dealers have more inventory just sitting on lots than they have in a long time. First off, the numbers are not looking good. The RV Industry Association (RVIA) dropped some grim stats: in May 2025, RV shipments tanked to 28,150 units. That’s a 15.1% drop from the 33,150 units shipped in May 2024. I was shocked because earlier this year, things seemed to be picking up—first-quarter 2025 shipments were up 15.8% compared to last year, mostly thanks to towable RVs like travel trailers and fifth wheels. But that May slump? It’s like the industry thought demand was still booming and got caught with way too many RVs sitting on lots. Dealers are stuck with overflowing inventories, and it’s no surprise sales are slowing down. I saw some chatter online about how 16.9 million American households still want to get into RVing, but wanting and actually buying are two different things. With so many unsold units, it feels like the peak camping season just didn’t deliver the way everyone hoped. I think a big part of the problem is the economy. It’s hitting the RV industry hard. Winnebago Industries, one of the big names in the game, just reported a rough third quarter. Their earnings per share dropped to $0.81 from $1.10 last year, and revenue slipped 1.4% to $775.1 million. They even cut their full-year earnings forecast from $2.75–$3.75 to just $1.20–$1.70. Ouch. Their CEO, Michael Happe, basically said the economy’s a mess, with inflation, high interest rates, and talk of tariffs scaring off buyers. No wonder Winnebago’s stock is down 36% this year—I wouldn’t want to invest in that right now.
